DAT update for March 25, 2009
We’re pleased to announce that the St. Patrick’s Day event and fundraiser was a success, bringing in a total of almost NT$15,000. We also added a few new members to the rolls, to whom extend a warm welcome. Your contribution and participation helps us to build an organization that’s ready to put Democrats in office in 2010 and 2012; Democrats living abroad should have the same support when it comes to voting as they do at home!
REQUEST: As part of the process of becoming an official country committee of the worldwide Democrats Abroad with full voting rights, we are required to provide at least 30 ARCs belonging to our membership. If you can help us out by sending us a scan of your valid ARC, we’d really appreciate it! Please send it to democratsabroadtaiwan@gmail.com.
PRESENCE: As most of you know, our home on the web is www.democratsabroad.org, where you can stay up to date on all the activities of DA committees in more than 160 countries, and Washington D.C. If you’re on Facebook, we have and active group which can be found here: http://groups.to/democratsabroadtaiwan/ A third option is of couse this blog: www.democratsabroadtaiwan.org, where anyone can check in and or comment on our upcoming events and recent news. All have various options for subscribing to email updates.
COMING SOON: We’re planning some great events for late spring and summer, including speakers and forums on issues like American foreign policy, movies, and possibly a cookout. Some of these events will be in Taipei, but we’ll also be making appearances in Taichung, Kaohsiung, and other cities around the island. We’re also working on making an official DAT t-shirt and or buttons. Send us your ideas, and look for future announcements!
